Stephanie Henly titled her first collection 'LONG-STITCH' which forms the design direction and detailing of her couture pieces. The embroidered yarns are left in excess to seam and connect the gown, functioning in construction whilst crating dramatic movement and detail in motion.
The draped gown creates a dramatic body covering of fluidity and elegance. The light-weighted fabric is hand embroidered in a repetitive dense pattern giving a semi sheer appearance. The draped gown floats around the body due to the simple side closures concealed by the excess fabric drapery. The alluring gown is of dramatic effect due to the sculptural flow of fabric and excessive fringing of the hanging yarns.
This iconic dress was seen in the Herald Sun, Sydney Morning Herald the Adelaide Advertiser to represent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2017 & apart of the award winning ‘Long-stitch’ collection at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.
